The independent Bristol radio station, Noods Radio, launched their brand new label Dummy Hand on 1 March 2022.
Standing as a separate entity but driven by the same subversive, independent ethos of the station, Dummy Hand is an outlet for music from the outer fringes of the dancefloor. The label's first release ‘Transient Communications’ comes from Vancouver-based dj_2button, and will be available on vinyl and as a digital download.
Dummy Hand and this release were made possible through the Youth Music Incubator Fund, supporting music businesses to create paid work for young people who are underrepresented in the industry. Noods Radio were able to hire two label interns to create the label and make the dj_2button release happen.
In an instagram post Noods Radio said "Through @youthmusic_charity’s Incubator Fund we were able to hire two label interns to help get the project off the ground and create a label we are all really proud to be running, so huge shouts to @boijork and @josh.r.vincent!"
Transient Communications is set to be released on 15 April.
