Youth Music is looking for Pride feature pitches from young LGBTQIA+ writers, photographers and content creators.

Are you a writer, content creator or photographer based in the UK and aged between 18-25 (up to 30 if d/Deaf or Disabled)?

We are commissioning features and content for Pride month and want to hear from you!

What to pitch:

We are interested in fascinating, thoughtful LGBTQIA-focused personal essays, cultural observation pieces, photography series, and video content with musical angles.

  • Do you have a moving or relatable experience about being an LGBTQIA+ artist/creative?
  • Do you want to explore a piece of UK LGBTQIA+ musical history?
  • Do you have an important, local queer space you would like to highlight?
  • Is there a current LGBTQIA+ topic in the music industries that needs to be spoken about?

Send us your pitches!

How to pitch:

Please email comms@youthmusic.org.uk and answer the following questions:

  • Be specific but brief. In a paragraph, tell us exactly what it is you want to pitch and why. Give us your focus, angle, or argument.

  • Share links or clippings of your previous work - this can be articles or images published on other platforms, TikTok videos, relevant university/college essays, or personal blog posts. We just need to see your style, skill level and tone of voice.

  • Lastly - tell us a bit about you and why you would be best placed to create this content.

Fee: £150.

Deadline for pitches: 11:59pm, Sunday 2 June 2024.
